Year 4, 5 and 6 students enjoy an exhilarating trip to Kalba |

The cheerful sounds of talking and laughter floated through the air. The students of Years 5 and 6 chattered and gibbered excitedly, on their way to Kalba.
|
Seconds later, the eager students were given a list of the activities they would be taking part in and shown around the campsite by their instructors. Next, the children had their lunch and restored their energy, before being split into two teams. One team caught crabs from a nearby river and studied them (under a microscope) before releasing them back into the river, while the other team played water sports and went kayaking. Once both the teams were done, they swapped activities.
|
The next morning, after breakfast, the children went on a two-hour trek, during which they spotted wild camels and saw an enclosure full of antelopes. When they returned to the camp, panting from exhaustion, the children gulped down all the water they could get their hands on, and gobbled down their lunch.

Later in the day, the students were given first-aid training. Some of the students were asked to pretend to be hurt while the others practiced administering basic first-aid to them.
